Kosi Mouth is at the extreme north eastern point of South Africa, a kilometre or so south of the Mozambique border on the Indian Ocean coast. The Kosi Bay lakes and estuary are a place of incredible natural beauty, where man and nature exist, mostly side by side, as they have for centuries.

We enjoyed a fantastic long weekend up at Kosi Bay, northern kwazulu-natal, camping at Utshwayelo Kosi Mouth Lodge. The facilities were fantastic, the area offered loads to do and we'll most definitely be returning.

This trip was planned within 12 hours, my Dad got a call from a friend offering us his accommodation due to it clashing with his schedule.
We packed and planned and left 12 hours later total adventure.
Durban to Kosi Bay to Hluhluwe and back to Durban. 1050km in 3 days.

Situated in the north of the Isimangaliso Wetland Park, this unique estuary is a little piece of tropical paradise. Famous for its endemic fish traps and crystal clear waters. A visit here is a must when one finds themselves in Zululand.
